Pipelining for Equity: Creating a Multicultural Graduate Recruitment Center
While UC Berkeley has programs, like the bridges Multicultural Resource Center, to provide educational resources to underrepresented students to apply to college, there are under-advertised services to ensure that those students also have the tools to go on to graduate and professional programs.
As senator, Klein is working to utilize the ASUC as a vehicle to create awareness about the plethora of programs aimed at pipelining nontraditional students from UC Berkeley into graduate programs. Through a week of events called the Graduate Resources Week, Klein will seek to empower students by providing resources that inform students about: the GRE and other tests, funding for graduate school, and what undergraduates need to do to prepare for the graduate admissions process now.
