We Resisted and Won!

Greetings,

Great news!! After months of struggle against UC management, the five unjustly laid-off Eshleman custodians are rehired, with no changes in their benefits and seniority. You made this happen!!

In early August, under the pretense of Lower Sproul redevelopment, UC management issued lay-off notices to five custodial workers, despite their seniority and the many unfilled positions in other departments for which they are qualified. The reality is that this is part of the broader movement of UC privatizing and subcontracting the university to poverty-wage paying corporations. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

On September 27th, you, along with more than 200 students and workers came out in support of the Eshleman 5. Succumbing under the pressure of students’ and workers’ demands, UC management rehired these workers, with no changes in their pay, benefits, and seniority. THIS IS THE POWER OF STUDENT WORKER UNITY.

COME CELEBRATE THIS VICTORY AT THE AFSCME OFFICE (2532 Durant Avenue  Berkeley, CA 94704) on November 2nd at 12pm.

You can RSVP Here:

See you then!

In Solidarity,
