Financial Aid Calendar 2012-2013

July 2012 Late July:

  1.  First Campus Accounts Receivable System (CARS) statement for fall semester is delivered

 

  1. Departmental awards for 2012-13 applied to students’ CARS accounts
August 2012 August 9: Last morning to apply for an Emergency Loan for Summer Sessions 2012 

August 13: Financial aid is applied to eligible students’ CARS accounts beginning 10 days before classes start

 

August 15: Fall semester fees are due

 

Late August: Undergraduate and Graduate Budget Appeal Forms are available

September 2012 September 7: Fall semester deadline to submit aSatisfactory Academic Progress Appeal. 

Late September: Enrollment review; eligible students must be enrolled full-time or lose all or part of their Pell Grant or Cal Grant

October 2012  Oct 1: Deadline for Student Contribution Appeal Form and Parent Contribution Appeal Form for fall-only students. 

Oct 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Parent PLUS loans for fall-only students.

November 2012 November 30: Last day to complete the loan process for for Federal Direct Loans for fall- only students.
December 2012 December 10: Budget Appeal deadline for fall-only students 

December 13: Last morning to apply for anEmergency Loan for fall semester

 

Mid December:  Fees are assessed and first CARS statement for spring semester is delivered

January 2013 January 1:

  1. FAFSA for the 2013-14 year is available

 

  1. For AB 540-eligible students, the Dream Act Application for 2013-14 available; Dream Act Cal Grant (Fall 2013) available

 

January 15: Spring semester fees due

 

January 22: First day of instruction

February 2013 February 1:

  1. Spring Deadline to submit a Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal

 

  1. Parent Contribution Appeal Deadline AND Student Contribution Appeal Deadline for Fall/Spring and Spring-only students

 

Late February 28: Enrollment review; eligible students must be enrolled full-time or lose all or part of their Pell Grant/Cal Grant

 

March 2013 Early March: Summer Sessions students can view their financial aid offers on MyFinAid 

March 2:

  1. FAFSA on-time Deadline for the upcoming 2013-14 academic year; (completion of the FAFSA is required for all financial aid programs)

 

  1. Cal Grant GPA Verification Form Deadline(California residents only) for the upcoming 2013-14 academic year

 

March 15: Last possible day to file a FAFSA for the current 2012-13 academic year

 

Late March: Accepted pre-frosh students can view financial aid offers on MyFinAid

 

March 30:

 

  1. Last day to complete the loan process forFederal Direct Parent PLUS Loans for fall/spring and spring-only students

 

  1. Deadline to submit 2012-13 Verification Forms
April 2013 April 20: Cal Day 

April 30: Last day to complete the loan process for Federal Direct Loans for fall/spring or spring-only semesters

May 2013 May 1:

  1. Deadline for freshman students entering Fall 2013 semester to submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)

 

  1. Budget appeal deadline for all/spring or spring-only students

 

  1. Transfer students entering in the Fall 2013 semester can review their financial aid offers on MyFinAid

 

May 3: Classes End

 

May 16: Deadline to apply for an Emergency Loan for the spring semester

 

May 17: Spring semester ends

 

May 28: Summer Sessions 2013 begin

June 2013 June 1: Deadline for transfer students entering Fall 2013 semester to submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)
